Will it be a Whopper!
Last weekends programme took us to one mile outside of the beautiful and historic town of Saffron Walden. Little Walden is a regular venue for us and usually very popular with our members. This is another site that has improved over time. The temporary fencing has been removed to open up the rally field even further and a new toilet block has been built. These changes although small, make a huge difference to Home Farm.
With owls hooting and deer roaming in the crop field opposite you definitely get that countryside feeling.
Our marshals took a relaxed approach to this weekend, the quiet and peaceful venue didn't really need much to make you enjoy it.
Sue & Barry W stepped up to do their 1st assist and were very welcoming, its always nice to see newer members become more involved. Thank you to you both.
Steve A was our main marshal, his enthusiasm for our hobby is amazing. He has wild plans to make what we do even more fun! This has already started with the results from the fishing competition which you can view by clicking HERE.
Another 1st : Was a new rallier, Tanet and Paul Y, we welcome you both and hope you enjoy exploring our beautiful county with the NECC.
Paul is not so new as he grew up in the Centre, he has a past Chairman and Ex Rally Secretary as parents so its in the blood! I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of these two through the summer.
North Essex Fills the Local!
Just as you enter the private road that leads to our venue there is The Crown public house and restaurant. It is voted one of the best in the area and has 93% positive reviews on Trip Advisor.
As it is so convenient our marshals booked places for a meal on Saturday evening for anyone that wanted to attend. Most took advantage of this and joined for a meal and a social chat in the welcoming surroundings.
The service and food was very good and well worthy of its positive reviews.
Once again the spring sunshine is continuing, a lovely weekend, thank you!
