Autism Anglia’s response to the monies raised,
“Hi Rob,
I’ve just caught up with Sarah who said she had a lovely evening with you all on Saturday and has showed me the photos that Alan took. She has also given me the cheque which is just fantastic!!!! I never imagined it would be so much – thank you, thank you!!
I am going to include it in our next newsletter – could you tell me the name of the lady presenting the cheque with you please?
We are going to use the money to make a start on refurbishing the sensory rooms at Doucecroft School. This is such a fantastic start to the £13k needed to get the relaxation room done at least – with a few grant funders that I have made applications to we should have this up and running this academic year at least.
Thank you again for your commitment to raising funds throughout the year – we really appreciate the hard work that goes into raising such a fabulous amount of money.
With kindest regards
Anna

Chairman Greg and Tina P raised an impressive £3500 for
Essex Oncology Wards.
While we have fun and enjoy life on a weekly basis our thoughts are never far from those not so fortunate as ourselves. As a result we organise regular charity event within our club to contribute back into our local community.
On average every 3rd year is a charity year where local good causes are considered.
Our efforts have seen donations to the following charities which helps support the marvellous work they carry out.
Essex Accident Rescue Service provide emergency care for road accidents and other high level incidents. Doctors covering the Essex area respond at a moments notice and carry out vital ‘first on scene’ care. The money raised provided high visibility jackets to wear at the scene.
Essex Children’s Unit received ‘Benny the Bears’. Benny the Bear was a very special Bear and developed to help explain to children their injuries and possible treatment they were likely to have in hospital. You were able to open up the legs and arms which showed the bone structure and if you opened up the chest you could see all the vital organs in the human body.
McMillan Nurses was our chosen charity in 2004 and again in 2009, they provide valuable support to cancer sufferers. They make a big difference to people lives during very difficult times.
Help For Hero’s Support for our injured service people.
Rhys Lewis Cancer Unit We raised enough money to provide two specialist beds as requested by the ward. Our chair lady Lynne A was very proud of all our members who contributed to this tremendous effort.
In a later year these beds went on to help one of our own members who was very special to Lynne & Bill.
