Spring at the Manor

Event 17 Little Easton Manor. Dunmow  1st-4th May 2026 Bank Holiday Rally Report — A Weekend Packed with Fun, Laughter & a Few Surprises With the bank holiday weekend in full swing and plenty happening on site, it didn’t take long for everyone to gather for the traditional Friday night natter and chatter. The buzz of conversation set the tone for what turned out to be a brilliantly entertaining few days. Saturday morning greeted us with glorious sunshine and clear blue skies, perfect for the “planned ramble” — which proudly became the shortest walk in rally history!  A mighty 15 minutes of gentle strolling led us directly to The Stag Inn, where refreshments were flowing, bar meals were calling, and no one seemed in a hurry to ramble any further. That evening, the event tents came alive with bingo hosted by Tanya and Sue, who delivered what can only be described as the worst rhyming bingo calls ever attempted — and somehow that made it absolutely brilliant.  Who knew t...

The Pretty Thing

Rally 16 24th-26th April 2026 What a Glorious Spring Weekend! Our recent rally at  “The Pretty Thing” , St Osyth , (the historic Essex village affectionately pronounced “Toosey” by locals), was blessed with truly exceptional spring weather. A total of 13 units attended, creating a friendly, intimate atmosphere where everyone could unwind and enjoy the early season sunshine.  With temperatures feeling more like summer than spring, most ralliers spent their days sitting outside, chatting, relaxing, and soaking up the warmth. Our marshals Dave and Sandy added to the enjoyment with bacon rolls on Saturday morning , which went down a treat, followed by a light-hearted quiz in the evening that brought plenty of laughs. The site lived up to its name and is truly a PRETTY place. Overall, it was a wonderfully calm and cheerful weekend, made memorable by the weather, the company, and the simple pleasure of being outdoors together.  A perfect start to the rally...

Easter 2026

Image
Trinity Park, Ipswich, Suffolk 2nd-6th April 2026  A big thank you to our neighbouring CENTRE, Suffolk for our invitation to join you for Easter. Many North Essex members took up the invite and attended what is a really good venue for larger rallies. It was also nice to see other centres in attendance such as South Essex & Mid Anglia. This event proved very popular as 60+ caravans and motorhomes were in attendance. Each had electric hook up and all were in easy walking distance to the hall. The “Suffolk Team” of Mark & Debs, Janice & David, Malcolm and Sue with Chris, Amy & Lilly were indeed a winning team.   With such a busy programme across 5 days they did amazing! Speaking to many North Essex members they all reported the same message of “What a Great Easter rally”.   Your pre rally planning and continuous hard work paid off.. and some!  Well done. Here are some of the events you put on to keep us entertained and fed! Continuous flow of tea ...

A Meal at Waldegraves

Image
Event 10 Mersea Island -13th-15th March 2026 Finally after a long winter, the sun came out just in time for our visit to Waldegraves on Mersea Island. Your journey through Colchester eventually brings you to The Strood causeway, the only way on and off of the island.   It is thought this was built around AD 700 by the Anglo Saxons, it’s a good job they did otherwise we would never have arrived on the rally on time and may have even been a bit wet! Even though we visited this venue just 3 years ago, the improvements Waldegraves have make are impressive.   New static/lodges now occupy the grass pitches opposite the golf course, neatly cut grass verges, trees well pruned,   making this site look fresh, clean and new.   Even the old lakes have had a make over with new hard wood edging. All of these improvements are paying off as the site was very busy, even at this time of year.   The hard standing touring pitches were pretty much sold out and even the grass pit...
