🌞 Sunshine, Sipping, & Splashing: The Borowaters Rally Week! 🏕️ 18 Caravans & Motorhomes | 7 Days of Mayhem | High 20s Heatwave | July 2026 🌳 25 Years in the Making Way back nearly a quarter of a century ago, the local landowner had a modest idea: chop a little patch of grass out of a hay field, dig an irrigation lake, throw in a few tiny fish, and try a bit of farm diversification. Fast forward 25 years, and Borowaters has matured like a fine wine! The irrigation pumps are long gone, leaving behind a picturesque paradise of towering trees, thriving wildlife, crystal-clear lakes, and a lush green rally field.

🚌 RALLY REPORT: High-Voltage Marshals, 'The Boat That Rocks', and Field Games at Thorpe-le-Soken! South Essex Invitation Rally | Grange Farm, Thorpe-le-Soken | Rally 32H | July 2026 What a truly spectacular week! From the moment we pitched up at Grange Farm , it was completely clear that we were in safe, highly skilled hands. The rally was expertly run by South Essex marshals Dave & Marion , alongside Alan & Jenny . A special mention must go to Marion, who we are convinced secretly runs on high-capacity Duracell batteries! The entire team was phenomenally organized—hats off to all four of them for keeping the energy high and everything running like clockwork. 🎥 Cinema History & Pirate Radio Nostalgia The marshals arranged some absolutely brilliant excursions for us. On one of the days, a merry group of 25 of us boarded a bus bound for Harwich . We visited the historic Electric Palace Theatre —one of the oldest working cinemas still in operation—for a fascinating t...

Paint Your Wagon

🎨 RALLY REPORT: Masterpieces, Model Planes, and the Great £5 Heist at Shotley! North Essex Centre | "Paint Your Wagon" at The Rose, Shotley | 10th–12th July 2026 After a beautifully trouble-free journey, we followed the shiny new rally signs straight through the pub car park and onto the expansive rally field. We were instantly greeted by Brian , who guided us to a prime pitch, closely followed by Vicky and Rob . Vicky handed Sandy a surprisingly hefty rally envelope—hinting that this was going to be no ordinary weekend! With the summer heat blasting, we tracked down a rare patch of shade for a hard-earned cuppa. That’s when Brian spotted a minor disaster: my caravan-to-car power lead had been dragging on the tarmac (likely a casualty of a local pothole) and a couple of the internal wires were completely frayed. He asked if I happened to have a soldering iron handy. I looked at him and said, "Frayed not!" 🧵😂 Bad jokes aside, Brian absolutely saved the day, work...

☀️ RALLY REPORT: Fambridge Relaxation & The Great Ice Cream Chase! North Essex Centre | White House Farm, Ferry Field | 3rd – 5th July 2026 If you were looking for the perfect definition of a classic British summer weekend, Fambridge  was exactly the place to be!  The rally officially opened on Thursday, with some units rolling in on Friday, and we were treated to absolutely glorious, unbroken sunshine from start to finish. It was fantastic to see everyone sitting outside, soaking up the rays and catching up. Thursday and Friday were wonderfully relaxed "do-as-you-please" days, wrapping up each evening with everyone gathering together for a good old-fashioned chit-chat under the Essex sky.

☀️ RALLY REPORT: Scorching Sun, Secret Remotes, and Solstice Celebrations! A Fantastic Weekend with the North Essex Centre 26th-28th June 2026 We arrived at the rally field at around 12:30 PM after a wonderfully trouble-free journey, greeted instantly by the jolly smiles of Mike and Bill , who quickly guided us to our pitch. Little did we know, we were about to endure a record-breaking weekend! The weather was absolutely scorching, hitting an incredible, area-record temperature of 34°C . After slowly setting up the caravan and unloading the car in the heat, we retreated to the cool of the hall to sit with the marshals and enjoy a very welcome (and much-needed) cup of tea. 📋 The Battle of the Kitchen (and the Remote Control!) By Friday afternoon, Lynne was already in full planning and organizing mode, locking in the schedule for Saturday night. To escape the heat, Sandy and I headed out for an evening meal at The Axe and Compass —a fantastic pub that we highly recommend to any...

IT WILL BE ALRIGHT ON THE NIGHT

Rally/Event 25H : 6th-13th June 2026 🌧️ RALLY REPORT: The Great Ludham Washout (and Win!) North Essex Centre | Manor Lodge Caravan Park, Ludham, Norfolk Our first-ever visit to Manor Lodge Caravan Park in Ludham was certainly unforgettable! It turns out we hadn't spent quite enough time on our knees praying to the weather gods before setting off. Mother Nature decided to treat our 14 caravans and motorhomes  to a daily spectacular of rain, thunder, lightning, and even a few rounds of hailstones just to keep us on our toes! Thankfully, the field itself was exceptionally neat, and we had a secret weapon: an on-site marquee . It became our evening sanctuary—even if the drumming of the torrential rain on the canvas meant we practically had to shout to hear each other's jokes! 🏆 The Resilience Awards goes to... A massive shout-out and well done to our fantastic Marshals: John & Val and Les & Jackie . Lesser mortals might have thrown in the towel, but their true Britis...

Fishing Joys at Little Walden

A Glorious Weekend at Home Farm, Little Walden Our Marshals  Caravan & Motorhome Rally Report From the moment the first vans rolled through the gates of Home Farm, Little Walden , we knew we were in for a special weekend. The sun was already blazing across the lake, casting a golden shimmer that made every pitch feel like a prime holiday spot. By 4pm , the rally field was neatly lined with two proud rows of caravans and motorhomes, all enjoying that picture‑perfect lakeside view. 🎣 Friday Evening: Peg Pull & Pre‑Match Buzz At 7pm , everyone gathered around Steve and Tanya’s motorhome for the eagerly awaited peg pull. With nine keen anglers ready for Saturday’s match, the excitement was almost as bright as the evening sunshine. Strategies were whispered, lucky hats were adjusted, and Steve was already rummaging around for his whistle… which, as we later discovered, was nowhere to be found. 🎣 Saturday: The Closest Match We’ve Ever Seen At 9am , the shout went out ...

Event 17 Little Easton Manor. Dunmow  1st-4th May 2026 Bank Holiday Rally Report — A Weekend Packed with Fun, Laughter & a Few Surprises With the bank holiday weekend in full swing and plenty happening on site, it didn’t take long for everyone to gather for the traditional Friday night natter and chatter. The buzz of conversation set the tone for what turned out to be a brilliantly entertaining few days. Saturday morning greeted us with glorious sunshine and clear blue skies, perfect for the “planned ramble” — which proudly became the shortest walk in rally history!  A mighty 15 minutes of gentle strolling led us directly to The Stag Inn, where refreshments were flowing, bar meals were calling, and no one seemed in a hurry to ramble any further. That evening, the event tents came alive with bingo hosted by Tanya and Sue, who delivered what can only be described as the worst rhyming bingo calls ever attempted — and somehow that made it absolutely brilliant.  Who knew t...
