A Weeley Good Weekend Rally 19 Homestead Rally Field 10th-12th May 2024   A return to beautiful Homesteads is always one to attend - such a picturesque venue. 20 caravan/motor homes made the journey to what was a sunny and eventful weekend. I know I am sad but, what a lovely field!     1st up was a ‘seaside’ themed quiz on Friday evening, refreshments were provided as we settled down to answer some taxing questions. Who knew !   One question required our marshal Dave K to sing….. Breaking seamlessly from quiz master to soft crooner tones ♪ ♪ Oh I do like to be beside the seaside ♪ ♪ gentle sounds resonated throughout the event tents.   At this point I knew two things, The 1st was the question answer ‘Tiddely-om-pom-pom’.   2nd was that Dave cannot sing!   All taken in good fun, it was a good fun evening. Keep singing Dave, X factor beckons.   Late Friday night the North Lights put on a spectacular display.   Th...

Blast from the Past – Event 18H

Little Easton Manor – 3rd-6th May We arrived on Friday to the gate being shut. Upon opening it, I could see why it was closed. The slope down into the field and the entrance was very wet and muddy; not surprising considering it had been raining all day. I could see Alan, our marshal, who told us to keep going and don't stop. Our pitch was on the end and what a beautiful spot it was. Uninterrupted views of the lake - just perfect.  Saturday we woke up to it being bright and sunny and we could already feel that it was going to be a nice day. We got up and had a full English, putting us in good stead for a walk to the pub at lunchtime. The pub was actually only 15 minute walk away but what a gorgeous little pub it was. We all sat out it the beer garden, drinking our drinks and eating cheesy chips. The children found a garden chair swing in the corner and all managed to squeeze on, enjoying all being together. After a few drinks and a couple of hours, we walked back to the site w...

Good Game, Good Game Rally 17 Pretty Thing Sy Osyth : 26th-28th April 2024   E ven though St Osyth is only a few miles from home, we decided to attend this new venue to try it out.   Our local knowledge tells us that this site was only opened about 5 years ago and is set in a rural location. On arrival the first thing we noticed was the well maintained entrance, it was blocked paved and new.   Once through the gate, Pitches with EHU, POD’s and new shower blocks   were visible, all looked new and well maintained. The rally field is set just behind the commercial pitches but still centre to the facilities. We were warmly welcomed by our marshals Maria and Stephen and shown to our pitch.   The field is square with a tree in the centre as a feature. We parked up and started to enjoy being away in the ‘van’, this the first time since Easter.   We met friends we had not seen for awhile which was really nice, we also noticed some new people ...
