End of Season AGM

Image
When is an AGM not an AGM? When its an End of Season AGM! Event number 1, Pleshey Village Hall, 10th-12th October 2025. The Centre had made a few changes to the format this year, moving the AGM to the Saturday and adding in a full End of Season social. With a busy schedule ahead, your committee worked hard during Saturday morning preparing the hall and prepping the kitchen ready for the evening social. Organising an event like this is a massive task and the work required to make it happen is often overlooked.   Our centre has a great team who take these challenges in their stride and take satisfaction in their achievement of a successful event as their reward. The AGM attracted a large number this year, extra chairs were needed to facilitate them all. The meeting commenced at 2pm, it was of course Kevin's farewell as he completed his three year tenure of the Chair.  Kevin was thanked and presented with his ‘Past Chairmans’ badges and plaque.    Annual reports were re...

Tellwright Cup

Image
D onated by W.C. Tellwright, this trophy is a warded for good caravanning. Judging takes place throughout the season covering  all aspects  of our hobby,  including  supporting our centre. The rules indicate that anyone can win except if you are serving on committee. So this years winners have been waiting in the wings to win for a very long time.    Not only has this couple supported our centre with various committee roles including the responsibility of  Chairman, their wider commitment to CAMC continued when work took them north to Leicester.  There they once again entered into a committee career showing their continued enthusiasm for our hobby. More recently they joined a very select few in becoming Life Members. Their love of the great outdoors and everything we do is obvious as they are still regulars at our many events. Congratulations on winning the Tellwright Cup  : Brian & Sue.

Sizewell 'F'

No they have not been Tango’d niether are they advertising a new range of factor 50 sun cream!    Keep reading to find out what they were up to!   Event 50H 28th September - 5th October 2025 As the season starts to fade and the sun dips below the horizon before 7pm, grabbing a last minute piece of the suns warmth makes the short trip up the A12 to Sizewell well worth while.   The Beach View Caravan park is just on the outskirts of Leiston and set against the back drop of the beach.    Although a medium sized commercial site, it has the feel of a regular rally venue with our members sited opposite each other and well within chatting distance. With electric hook up, modern washroom facilities and an onsite sea front drinks bar this   venue is ideal for this time of year. Our marshals Brian and Kerry assisted by James and Margaret have run this event on and off for many years.   Their ability to keep us entertained throughout the week ...

Inter Centre Fishing 2025

Image
Rally No 44 : 12-14th September 2025 : Little Walden Once again the months ticked around to the Inter Centre fishing competition, the summer has started to fade and the welcome cooler air had begun to arrive.   It was our turn to host this event on behalf of the Anglia Division and once again Little Walden was the chosen venue.   Central to all centres it is a popular choice and has been used extensively for quite a few years in a row.   This venue continues to mature with previous areas cordoned off for private use released to make the camping area even bigger.   A new washroom facility and even dry waste bins shows improvements to this venue in many areas. While the field has a slight slope, the grass is nicely cut and the slope allows for some great views across the two lakes and in sight of the rolling farmland in the near distance. Our marshals this weekend where Tanya & Steve with Sue and Barry stepping in the assistant roll. On arrival St...

Jurassic Lark

Event No 35H 2nd-16th August 2025 The Dorset Event was this year's summer holiday rally at Manor Farm Holiday Park. This was a new venue for us and what a place it turned out to be! Ideally situated within Charmouth itself, the beach was just a 10 minute walk away down a footpath. Also within 10 minutes walk were two pubs, a takeaway, convenience store, bakery, café and even a caravan shop! The rally itself was being held on the back field of the site which had its own toilet and shower block, two water taps and electric hook-up for every unit.  The site was surrounded by trees and rolling hills in the distance.  Part of the rally included the use of the onsite swimming pool, which was a great hit with the children and some adults.  On arrival everyone was greeted with a smiling face and a cuppa; some definitely needed this after coming from as far afield as to he Yorkshire Dales and North Wales.  Help was on hand for anyone that needed it as the field was on a s...

Fishy Tales

Set in the centre of the Dengie Peninsular, Southminster is a great place to base yourself for a weekend.  With points of interest from the Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall at Bradwell (built in 654 AD) to the more modern vineyards of the Crouch Valley or the bustling marina at Burnham with its restaurants and pubs.  Borowaters is the perfect location to explore the local area. Our marshals this weekend were Kevin & Dawn who have now organised this event for 10 years.    They were very ably assisted by Lynn & Den who themselves have been very active in running events, this is one of three consecutive weekend where they have marshalled.  They all will be due a well earned rest soon. As the members arrived they were warmly welcomed and settled into their pitches.   With views over the lake in one direction and open fields to the other, this very open space made for a relaxing weekend. Event 32, 25th-27th July 2025 This weekend hosted the last of t...
